In this black and white photograph, there is one thing for sure, the cat is a very light colour or white, or even more white and albino , it certainly seems to have a lack of melanin.
Now I do not know much about cats, but I guess a cat of this colour was pretty rare. No wonder “it”, is being looked after. Perhaps the officer has detained it as he knows the value of the cat. It makes me wonder if there were people then breeding cats and selling them ! In 2020, probably 140 years later, there is certainly a huge reward for breeding pedigree dogs and cats.
No doubt the photograph is taken at HQ like every other group photograph of this age.
Can I date it ? NO
