WEYMOUTH 1960 OR 1963

This photograph has been given to me by Tony BEALE’s daughter Moira.

Unfortunately it is one of those photos that was inherited and has no information on.

I can identify some faces, like Geoff PEACH and Ted TOOP. but only a few  so I have asked Hayne RUSSELL for some help.  David LAKE has now chipped in with two more names.

Perhaps you can help with some more names !

Hayne believes the photographs would appear to be mid-sixties ?

This photograph is between December  1960 and June 1963, which is when “Pete” PARSONS was the Supt in charge of Weymouth Division.

I do not know “Pete” PARSONS retirement date, but he was 60 years old in June 1963 so I believe he would have had to retire and it would make sense that was when Ernie RUSHEN took over.   Tom BATTSON also moved to Weymouth in 1960 as an Inspector, so obviously sometime in the next 3 years was promoted to C/I.

Please study the faces to see if you recognise anyone else.

    1. Thanks David for both emails, that’s two more ticked off , have you any idea what year it was ?

It is about time you told me, about your career, I presume you joined in the 1960’s. Pc Harry HAINES was pc 29 in the 1930’s, so that’s why I am guessing that ! IAN
